Sylvie Rise To Grace

With a passion for her art and talent Sylvie Grace takes to the streets of Chicago on Michigan Ave and performs for the public. If you had the chance to greet her she is quite friendly! She frequents the studio when not street performing and has gained quite the reputation in the Chicago music community.

Collaborating with many locals from A Billion Young to Palmer Squares and many others, she assists with either with her cello or her vocals. Leaving her mark in sound around Chicago. On her own she works with a loop station a cello and sometimes a drummer. The combination results in soulful pop and R&B tunes with deep lyrics. Another beautiful example of Chicago’s many talents. By the looks of her facebook comments they would not now it But! This girl makes actual music and really good music too. They might be too distracted by her gracious look if they cannot find her soundcloud. Coming from Chicago Niykee Heaton is an artist that embraces body, mind and music. Whilst playing the guitar, she also produces and writes her own music! Not even a lot of mainstream artists can say that.

Best Thing Ever is a pretty catchy pop tune, released during her ongoing Bedroom Tour, which btw will be making a stop in Chicago on the 3rd of December at Concord Music Hall. Alessia is Influenced by Amy Winehouse and would love to collaborate with Drake one day. Along with fellow Canadian Drake, 18 year old, Alessia Cara in from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Newcomer to the scene, she has already 500,000 streams in her first week debut breakout song “Here”. Before she was discovered in the music industry, Cara covered songs such as  “Sweater Weather” by The Neighbourhood“Halo” by Beyonce and many more.

This new tune is definitely an #Antipartytrack. This goes out to all the people who don’t enjoy going to overcrowded parties where there is alot of BS going on vs. being a chill spot with a small group of close friends laying low. Alessia catches herself asking, why is she even there?  It’s not her usual scene.

ALESSIA

      What’s Next for Alessia Cara

Cara stated in a recent interview her inspiration behind the song “Here” was that, “This one time I went to a party and while there, I realized how much I hated it, along with every other party I had ever gone to. We wrote about it the next day.” – Fader magazine. Alessia recently attended and performed at the Def Jam 2015 Upfronts showcase in New York City.

She is signed to Def Jam records and currently in the process of finishing up her upcoming project. Salva switches over to Pop Music

Salva

In a recent interview with Thump, the Chicago native Salva discusses plans to “graduate”, as he says, from the underground scene. “I did the club culture heavy” he says, “I’m not done [DJing], I still love it, but everybody goes through phases.” It seems Salva is wants to take next step in his music career and reach out to a broader spectrum of artists and audiences.

Over the past few years as trap music was gaining popularity Salva has made his mark known, producing and remixing his own style of the genre. Having made some very successful collabs with artists like the Crookers & RL grime, he has a solid history with his sound which not only stays in the realm of trap & bass music, but also incorporates house and hip hop elements. One of his more recognizable songs and collaborations is with RL Grime on a remix of Kanye West’s Mercy.

But even though Salva has mastered the trap genre he shows a growing distaste for it, and he makes it very apparent in the interview. “Trap isn’t even cool anymore” he continues, “if we look at music the way we do fashion, that shit’s been out of season.” So the next step for Salva is to make new music on a larger scale that attracts new artists to work with him and his sound and get his name out there.

“I’m looking for a little more substance” he explains, “I’m just looking for something deeper than sound effects and kick drums.” What he is more interested in now is “making timeless actual songs, making something of substance that can be covered.” Salva is already making the moves to put his idea in motion. At the end of April he made a new record label, Peacemaker, and released a track “Drop That Bitch” with familiar artists such as Kurupt, Bad Lucc and ScHoolboy Q.

Keeping this pattern going Salva teamed up with Nick Hook to produce a song Old English with verses by Young Thug, Freddie Gibbz and A$AP Ferg. Tracks like Drop That Bitch and Old Enlgish definitely break more into the mainstream as Salva hoped. Big names like Gibbz and Ferg working with Salva will definitely help him reach his goal to have a more recognizable name in the music industry. Looking forward to hearing more tracks by Salva and who he works with. Get more details on his interview with thump here and check out his latest track below.
